Malessa’s Midnight Ride
What happens when you get into a situation as a Blood Knight that can’t be solved with weapons and throwing around the light, and thus you need a little speacilzed help?
You call in a diplomat…and a good one at that.
“When disagreements or situations arise between two parties in the world there are certain ways that things will be worked out. Classically, the history of the world points towards swords, arrows, magic and all other sorts of powers to demolish, bash, smash and destroy any hope of resistance or dissidence. However, when the parties involved are more than capable of delivering that same level of volatile destruction against one another there are calls by the reasonable for a more level-headed approach and bringing all of the parties together to sit down, talk, and actually act like something other than spoiled children throwing a tantrum.” A glass of aged wine was raised to a pair of ruby red lips and finished off. A dazzling smile lit up over the rim of the glass before it was sat down and Malessa Dawnrose set her gaze upon the blood elf man seated next to her on the couch.
“So basically, you walk into a room and tell everyone they’re throwing a tantrum and then make them both agree to something they can walk away happy enough with…just like that?” Kalec sat back and leaned into the couch cushions as he looked her over for a moment.
Malessa gave a soft shrug of her shoulders and adjusted her position on her seat. “Correct, and the best part is that they even thank me for it later. Which brings me to you, Sunwhisper. I heard through a couple fellow Knights that you ran into a little trouble on one of your recent adventures. Something about destroying a priceless piece of treasure, some very angry Dwarven Archaeologists over a Titan…”
“Oh for fuck’s sake! I was at a dig site nearby looking into what appeared to be a forge and metal-press that the Titans had used in one of their constructs. The Dwarves were there and they asked me to look at what they thought was pieces from a relic blade. I told them that what they were looking at couldn’t possibly be Titan in origin because of the way the metal had shattered…” Kalec started to look annoyed as he explained himself.
Malessa raised a hand and gave him a small smile, “Regardless of the authenticity, you took the shard and destroyed it to prove your point and so you angered those Dwarves. Then it turned into shouting, and yelling, and someone threw a punch…”
Kalec scoffed and crossed his arms, “Two someone’s threw a punch, thank you very much. I didn’t know Dwarven women went right below the belt as a first option with their punches. I narrowly avoided having my balls smashed thanks to having my legplates on at the time.”
“Powerful women going after your balls bothers you, does it?” Malessa couldn’t help but hide the smile that crept over her lips. “Your own little outbursts aside, the Reliquary has requested that I step in to mediate and cover your rather well formed ass. As we’re both Blood Knights, they thought that the potential reparations and apologies offered would be better received in the long run of our talks. Turns out they were correct.”
“You…what…huh!?” Kalec blinked and looked at Malessa for a moment.
“I have taken the liberty of already smoothing over the relations between yourself and the dwarven expedition party you offended. Turns out they appreciate the official statement of apology that you will provide tomorrow, along with a previously delivered keg or two of very fine ale,” Malessa gave him a smile. “Let’s just say that this is one Knight looking out for another like they taught us…so you owe me one, Sunwhisper.”
Kalec was quiet for a few moments before he reached for his glass of arcwine and took a drink from it. He swallowed and gave the glass a tilt to look at the evening light pass through the light purple liquid that glowed with ley energy before he spoke again, “I don’t like having debts over my head, Dawnrose…and while I realize you were asked to intervene it makes me feel as though I’m being held to some agreement I didn’t sign up for.”
“Technically you were working under the auspices of the Reliquary and they have guidelines for dealing with rival archaeological groups,” Malessa slipped off the couch and stood up with a stretch as her feet carried her around the end of the table then turned to look at him. “I’m reasonably sure that we can come to some sort of an agreement between the two of us. I have, after all, heard stories about some of the ways you’ve been working out agreements on your own after all.”
Kalec ran a hand through his hair and blew a breath out as he watched her move around the table, “What did you have in mind?”
Malessa’s smile widened as she slipped a hand down to the buttons at the top of the shirt she was wearing and pulled the fabric over one shoulder in a slow move that she made sure that he would watch. “I think we start with two little words first.”
“Thank you,” Kalec said as he stood up and reached for the bottom of his shirt to draw it up from the hem of his pants.
“You’re very welcome, Kalec. Now about what you owe me. Lose the clothes and get on your bed because we’ve got some details to hammer out this evening and I think our talks are going to take a good long time.”
A big image set featuring Malessa Dawnrose, Blood Knight and diplomat extraordinaire who belongs to @Solinii1. This started as an idea with a single image in mind and then it turned this giant, intimate night’s worth of activities between two very strong willed Blood Knights. A whole lot of fun to work on this one.
